Trinity School welcomed Olympic silver medallist and England Rugby Sevens captain Tom Mitchell.
Trinity School, Croydon was delighted to welcome England Rugby Sevens captain and Olympic silver medallist Tom Mitchell to coach a training session which included some of the school’s youngest rugby players.
As part of the school’s commitment to nurturing young sports players and developing an interest in activities beyond the classroom, the training session was inspirational for members of the Lower School community, where they worked on Sevens game play and showed excellent attacking intent.
Mitchell also brought along his Olympic silver medal for the boys to see and posed patiently with the pupils for countless photographs with their rugby hero.
Mitchell said: “It was a pleasure to be invited to coach at Trinity; we had lots of running around to keep warm and they are a lovely bunch of lads”.
Director of Rugby at Trinity, Ian Kench, said: “We were delighted to welcome Tom to Trinity. Having someone of his professional standing at the school, working with our young players and sharing his expertise, showed them how hard work and dedication can pay off. Beyond the training, we were very grateful that Tom was so generous with his time, signing autographs and posing for photos with some of his biggest fans”.
