Visit the Carers Support Centre for a range of free activities available for carers in 2016.
If you look after someone who needs assistance due to an illness, disability or old age, the Carers Support Centre, run by the Carers Information Service, offers help and advice to support you as a Carer.
There are a range of activities run by the Centre throughout the year available to Croydon carers, including:
What’s happened…The Centre joined the Carer’s Rights Day national campaign which took place on Friday 20 November 2015 to raise awareness of carers needs. To support carers in their day-to-day work, the Centre held a range of special activities including neck and shoulder massages, rumba dance sessions and knit and natter - all were well received.
Coming up…Alzheimer’s Society in the Café – on the first Thursday of the month (7 January, 4 February, 3 March) a Dementia Adviser from the Alzheimer’s Society will be in the Carers Café to offer information, advice and support to carers of someone with dementia.
Interested in learning the Cha Cha Cha? The Centre will be offering free ballroom dancing lessons on 12, 26 February and 4, 11 March (carers must attend all four classes).
Don’t forget…As a carer you can become a member of the Carers Support Centre and receive membership discounts in local shops and eateries.
