Old Palace student reaches finals of BAFTA Young Game Designers Competition 2017.

Old Palace student Jayavarshini, who is in Year 8, reached the finals of the prestigious BAFTA Young Game Designers Competition, which was held in London on the 8th July.

Jayavarshini designed a game called Henna Station, with templates of henna that the player can   trace over. There are 15 different levels of templates and challenges and players earn coins as they progress through the game to buy more henna cones. Once completed, the player becomes a VIP Champion and can buy as many cones and templates as they want.

Jayavarshini says: “I feel very privileged to see my game design concept going through to the finals of the BAFTA Young Game Design Competition. I was not expecting something so big to happen to me at this young age, particularly when there are several thousand entries each year for this national competition.”
