Old Palace Student Lands Lead Role in Britten’s Turn of the Screw

Old Palace student lands lead role in Britten’s Turn of the Screw.

Last month, Old Palace Year 10 student, Ellie, played the lead role of Flora in the English National Opera’s magnificent production of Britten’s opera The Turn of the Screw.

The performance was at Regent’s Park Open Air theatre in London with a summer’s night backdrop, perfect for a chilling ghost story.

The production received glowing reviews from national publications, with the Telegraph describing Ellie’s performance as ‘exceptional’, whilst the Guardian said that the cast were ‘impeccable’. Regents Park Open Air Theatre was an entirely apt setting for such a harrowing tale, allowing the ghostly apparitions to appear from behind the reed bushes before entering the stage area.
