Old Palace year 10 students succeed in British Physics Olympiad.

Earlier this term, a group of Old Palace students took part in the Year 10 Physics Challenge; a competition set by the British Physics Olympiad. There were very many strong performances, with three of the students achieving the Gold award, five Silver and eight Bronze.

Tanya J scored highest mark in the school with a total that placed her in the top 50 of the 6400 students who took part countrywide. As a result, she has been invited to Oxford University for a day of Masterclasses involving Physics practicals, discovering more about cutting edge research in Physics and developing problem solving skills.

Physics teacher, Mr Taruwona, said: I am really delighted with the results and I offer my congratulations to all the students for their success.”
