Whitgift House recieved glowing report after unannounced inspection by CQC.

Staff at Whitgift House are celebrating after receiving a glowing report following an unannounced inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) last week.
The South Croydon care home met all standards following a routine inspection and the report noted that ‘care reflected the individual needs of each resident’.
Inspectors commented on the emphasis on care plans particularly in regard to maintaining residents’ privacy and dignity when carrying out personal care.
Staff in particular were praised for the friendly service they provide ensuring that they take time to talk to residents and there is always a full programme of varied activities on offer. One resident commented, “The staff are really wonderful, all of them. I am so glad there was a place here.”
Inspectors also praised the home for holding the ‘Beacon Status’ for end of life care by the Gold Standards Framework further highlighting the Home’s commitment to the highest standards of care.

We strive to exceed the expectations of our residents and their families through the highest standards of care, dignity and respect. Our residents are at the centre of everything we do and this is reflected in all of the inspectors, staff, residents’ and relatives comments within this recent report.”
Other comments within the report commended Whitgift House:
- Resident: “The staff are very special, they are very caring.”
- Relative: “It’s absolutely marvellous. I’ve booked a room here myself!”
- Relative: “When I leave here I have no concerns. I know he will be looked after.”
- Staff: “This place is fantastic, nothing bad to say about it. The home’s great, the training’s great, good management teams, loads of support, door always open.”
Whitgift House is part of The Whitgift Foundation and offers 36 bedrooms for full nursing care and 34 rental flats for warden assisted living.
